PENCILS & PAPER is the theme of Found's Art Bar this Thursday, August 27 from 5-8pm. Come doodle and draw to get a taste of some of terrific colored pencils available for purchase at the shop. During the Ann Arbor Gallery Night event in August, you're invited to experiment with select papers and sketchbooks as you sample a selection of colored pencils. Try out the Blackwing colors on a smooth Bienfang sketchbook, doodle with Karst pigmented graphite on paper made of stone, wet some watercolor paper and discover the hidden ability to draw with watercolor pencils from Peter Pauper.

This week has me remembering the Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. Our family had a place on a lake for most of my life. Each Fourth of July weekend, about a hundred relatives and friends, along with a mannequin named Josephine, gathered to celebrate. Big and little cousins jumping off the raft, kazoos and a tuba.....

Get inky at the "Art Bar" on June 25th.  As part of the Ann Arbor Gallery Nights in Kerrytown, Found is featuring a different category of art making supplies each month. 

On Thursday, June 25th from 5-8pm there will be printmaking goodies to sample.

Stop by Found for a Make-n-Take Mini Totem ceramic bar + Pop-Up Art Show with Katie Bramlage during Ann Arbor Fair. Comb through "beach" of ceramic bits-and-bobs, then learn to tie it into your own personal mini totem. Drop in Friday, Saturday or Sunday (July 17-19, 2026) between noon and 6:00pm to create with Katie. $40 per totem.

Garden Party, Flower Day, and Memorial Day all in one long weekend! 

The "Art Bar" at Found will be serving up WATERCOLOR supplies during the first 2026 Ann Arbor Gallery Night in Kerrytown. Stop by to sample luscious Viviva Watercolor Sheets, pans of paint, and yummy gouache, served up with variety of brushes on various watercolor papers.

There's a special energy in town when family and friends from across the country (and around the world) arrive to celebrate the accomplishments of the University of Michigan Class of 2026. We're here to celebrate them, too!

This year the University of Michigan will award it's one millionth degree!

Ann Arbor is in bloom!

Speaking of blooming, one of my favorite new arrivals at Found is a group of candles from Chicago candle maker, KOBO. The scents are fresh and summery, with names like Sweet Sunflower, Heath Lavender, Catalan Calendula, Crushed Mint and Wild Tomato Vine.

As a little bonus, the vessels are reusable as glasses AND the colorful packaging of each Plant-the-Box candle is embedded with seeds.
