Ann Arbor Summer Festival

June 5, 2026
The arrival of June brings some of our favorite ways to celebrate summer, including the Ann Arbor Summer Festival from June 12-28th. The line-up of outdoor music, movies, arts experiences, plus creative kid's activities shifts us into an easy-going summer mode that brings friends and neighbors and visitors together in that little section of campus near Burton Tower. It feels like a hidden gem. You can be 2 blocks away on Liberty and not even realize it's there. I want to let everybody know about it, 'cause there is room for everyone!
After years of enjoying A2SF and sharing info about it, we decided to go a step further and become sponsors for a couple events at Top of the Park, including the Opening Night performance, by local musician Jess Merritt, on Friday, June 12th at 8:30. The Gabriel Brass Band will open the Rackham Stage at 7pm.
Additional activities starting at 5pm on that First Friday include: Chalk Art with David Zinn, April Varner on the O&W Grove Stage, the Ultimate Airplane Challenge in the KID ZONE, and an Interactive workshop with artist Holly Bass in the Annex. At 5:30, you'll find RETREAT: All Levels Yoga + Breathwork with Zion Well, on the Power Center Lawn. At 10pm, DJ Myint will slide into the Grove for late-night vibes.
That's just the first day! Complete A2SF schedule can be found at a2sf.org.
This year's Movies by Moonlight theme features movies that have something to do with holidays: "Celebrate the holidays in June! This year’s lineup features films that feel wonderfully out of place for summer—and because of that, perfectly fitting. Look forward to festive chaos, heartfelt moments, and romantic misadventures usually saved for colder months. After all, holidays aren’t about dates; they’re about sharing moments together."
The first movie will be Hamilton, shown on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14th. A fitting way to mark our 250th year as a nation.
If you've shopped at Found, you KNOW we love the "holiday season" - from Halloween through New Years Day. On Wednesday, June 17th, the movie we're sponsoring is Sleepless in Seattle, that sweet classic starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, starting with a Christmas time phone call to a radio station. It's playing on the big outdoor screen for all to enjoy.
Look for us when you're out enjoying the Ann Arbor Summer Festival!
